MBC Shahid’s July lineup delivers a rich fusion of Arab cinema and television drama, weaving tales of betrayal, love, and the relentless search for truth across five distinct productions.
Leading the pack is the Saudi feature Noura, written and directed by Tawfik Al-Zaidi. Set in a remote 1990s village and starring Yaqoub Al-Farhan and Maria Bahrawi, the film has already earned a Special Mention at Cannes and the Best Saudi Film award at the 2023 Red Sea International Film Festival—now streaming alongside the Gulf thriller When No One Sees Us, where three siblings, including Jasem Al-Nabhan and Khaled Amin, lead double lives in a treacherous revenge plot against their father’s betrayer.
Egyptian romance And in Imagination… Love! arrives July 16, featuring Ahmed El-Saadani and Mayan El-Sayed in a tale of an introverted professor caught in a student’s emotional crossfire. Syrian drama Al-Nawailati, starring Samer Al-Masri and Dima Kandalaft, premieres July 26, tracking a fugitive’s deadly hunt for truth inside a merciless city. Finally, social romance Where Have You Been? brings together Nasser Al-Dosari and Farah Al-Sarraf from July 30, as a chance accident sparks a love story tested by clashing personalities.
