Egypt’s Ambassador to Tunisia Discusses Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation with Minister of Interior

Minister of Interior Khaled Ennouri met Ambassador Bassem Hassan, Egypt’s Ambassador to Tunisia. the meeting underscored the deep and longstanding cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides voiced appreciation for the fruitful coordination in the security field, including the regular convening of the Joint Security Committee and the ongoing communication between the leadership of the two Interior Ministries and security agencies in both nations.

The talk also focused on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in addressing growing common challenges—particularly in the areas of combating terrorism, transnational organized crime, irregular migration, and cybersecurity. The two sides also reviewed prospects for cooperation and exchange of expertise between the police academies of both countries and the proposed memorandum of understanding in this regard. Additionally, they discussed consular matters, including facilitating residency and visa procedures.

They reaffirmed their shared commitment to further advancing bilateral relations in the security and consular fields, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and President Kais Saied.

The meeting also reflected the mutual aspiration to hoist relations between Egypt and Tunisia across all domains, in keeping with the distinguished political ties and close coordination between the two brotherly nations on regional and international issues.
