Donald Trump once again stands with injustice

Instead of condemning the barbaric war against the Palestinians and alleviating their extreme suffering and sorrow that history has not witnessed such an atrocity, Donald Trump has once again seized the opportunity to support Israel despite its horrendous crimes.

Trump’s latest bizarre position in a post about his truth, in which he promised that there would be “hell to pay” in the Middle East if all the prisoners held by Palestinian factions in Gaza were not released.

It seems that nothing will change for the Palestinian people and the Middle East with Trump and his administration, despite the tragic outcome of the daily assaults and ongoing violence against Palestinians.

Trump again ignores international law by letting Israel unleash its brute military force on innocent civilians without hesitation and ruthlessly despite international resolutions in favour of Palestine, and by supporting the serial killer Netanyahu and his former defence minister Moshe Yaloon, accused by the International Criminal Court of war crimes and crimes against humanity, ignoring the arrest warrant issued by this court, which tests the commitment to international law of Western leaders, including Donald Trump.

The big question is why did Trump reaffirm his support for Israel and its oppressors and hardened criminals… why did he not support international justice in spite of its long history of crimes against the defenceless Palestinian people?

While many Western leaders excuse Israeli brutality as self-defence, Trump has never said anything about Palestinian rights.

He has every right to call for the release of prisoners, but why should he turn a blind eye to Palestinian self-determination and sovereignty? Israel is holding over ten thousand Palestinian prisoners, but unfortunately Mr Trump does not have the responsibility to help free them.

Trump and Western leaders should be the voice of free peoples and respect institutions. It is their historic duty to oppose such injustice and terror. It is time for the conscience of the world to fully support the aspirations of the Palestinians for freedom and independence for the consolidation of peace and confidence in the world.
