Tunisia’s investment promotion agency, FIPA-Tunisia, hosted a delegation from the Chinese state-owned enterprise China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMCE) this week to review ongoing projects and explore new investment opportunities in the country’s critical infrastructure sector.
The meeting, centered on deepening Tunisian-Chinese cooperation, focused on several high-priority national projects. Key agenda items included the expansion of Tunis-Carthage International Airport, the development of the deep-water port of Enfidha, and the Taparura urban development project in Sfax.
FIPA Director General Jalel Tebib emphasized the importance of CAMCE’s existing investments in Tunisia, such as the Ben Arous Youth Sports Center project. He outlined a shared goal to accelerate the implementation of large-scale infrastructure ventures, potentially through public-private partnerships, and reaffirmed Tunisia’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with international partners.
The discussions positioned these mega-projects as essential levers for enhancing Tunisia’s connectivity, logistics capacity, and overall economic attractiveness.
CAMCE, a subsidiary of the Chinese state conglomerate SINOMACH, is a leading international engineering and project management company. Listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 2006, the firm specializes in turnkey projects globally and is a major player in overseas infrastructure development.
