Turkish company AKSA Kompozit has taken a significant step toward establishing a new aerospace manufacturing operation in Tunisia with the signing of a land allocation agreement for its planned investment at the Borj Cedria Technopole.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at the Mövenpick Hotel du Lac Tunis in the presence of Türkiye’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Ahmet Misbah Demircan; Tunisia’s Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) Director-General Jalal Tabib; AKSA Kompozit Director-General Abdullah Ocak; President of the Tunisian Aerospace Industries Group (GITAS), Stephani Sonia Dallali; President of the Borj Cedria Technopole, Nada Chaâl; President of the Tunisian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce, Selçuk Yılmaz; as well as a number of representatives from the Tunisian and Turkish business communities.
The ceremony featured addresses by AKSA Kompozit Director-General Abdullah Ocak, Borj Cedria Technopole President Nada Chaâl, GITAS President Stephani Sonia Dallali, Tunisian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce President Selçuk Yılmaz, FIPA Director-General Jalal Tabib, and Türkiye’s Ambassador to Tunisia Ahmet Misbah Demircan.
The land allocation agreement was subsequently signed by Abdullah Ocak and Nada Chaâl, formally paving the way for the implementation of AKSA Kompozit’s investment project in Tunisia.
A New Aerospace Manufacturing Investment
AKSA Kompozit plans to invest an initial $5 million in Tunisia to establish a manufacturing facility at the Borj Cedria Technopole dedicated to the production of composite materials for the aerospace sector.
The project is expected to serve as the foundation for the company’s broader manufacturing activities in Tunisia, with plans to expand its operations during subsequent phases. The facility is scheduled to become operational in 2028.
The investment is expected to contribute to further strengthening Tunisia’s position as an industrial and technological platform for aerospace-related activities, while opening new prospects for deeper integration between Tunisian and Turkish industrial capabilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, AKSA Kompozit Director-General Abdullah Ocak described the project as the starting point of a long-term production strategy in Tunisia, stressing that the company intends to expand its investment in the country in the future.
The project reflects AKSA Kompozit’s growing interest in Tunisia as a potential base for advanced manufacturing and aerospace-oriented production, while reinforcing economic and industrial cooperation between Tunisia and Türkiye.
