IsDB Launches Golden Jubilee Publication Celebrating 50 Years of Solidarity, Impact and Hope

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) launched its historic Golden Jubilee Publication, titled “Stronger Together: Celebrating 50 Years of Solidarity, Impact, and Hope,” marking half a century of development, cooperation, and progress in its 57 member countries. The publication was officially launched by Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the IsDB Group, during the IsDB Governors’ Luncheon on the sidelines of the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Al Jasser, in his statement, described the publication as a milestone, underscoring that ‘Our legacy is not measured in figures, but in people: lives uplifted, opportunities created, and hope restored,’ emphasizing the enduring significance of solidarity and cooperation among member countries in addressing shared challenges and achieving sustainable prosperity.

The publication reflects an intriguing narrative intermingling hindsight of history and vision for the future, bringing out the exceptionalism of IsDB as an institution unlike any other—the only MDB with a membership comprising exclusively emerging and developing nations in the South, for the South, by the South. It highlights key milestones, flagship projects, and life-changing initiatives that have reached the lives of millions of people across the globe, with a diverse range of voices.

Instead of one story, the editors have compiled reflections of a broad range of beneficiaries, for instance, from member countries. Through a rich combination of narrative, data visualization, and photography, it brings to life the way the Bank’s investments in infrastructure, education, health, climate action, and trade have assisted Member Countries in realizing their development objectives.
