The film will hit cinemas in Egypt starting August 13, and across the Arab world from August 28.
The cast and crew of Darwish celebrated the film’s special premiere at VOX Cinemas, Mall of Egypt, in a festive atmosphere attended by the movie’s stars and creators, including Amr Youssef, Dina El Sherbiny, Tara Emad, Khaled Kamal, Mostafa Gharib, Ahmed Abdel Wahab, and a special appearance by Mohamed Shaheen.
The Darwish team lit up the red carpet, joined by producers, media figures, influencers, and notable public personalities such as Tarek El Erian, Saba Mubarak, Sedky Sakhr, Hana Shiha, Tamer Habib, and Yasmina El Abd, making it a standout evening ahead of the film’s official theatrical release.
The plot follows “Darwish,” a charismatic con artist who lives on the edge. When a high-stakes deal goes catastrophically wrong, he becomes entangled in a web of stolen jewels, deception, and tangled relationships. As the net closes in and threats intensify, Darwish embarks on an unexpected path toward heroism, facing life-or-death challenges that test his loyalty, instincts, and ability to stay one step ahead of the chaos.
Directed by Walid El-Halafawy and written by Wissam Sabry, Darwish is co-produced by VOX Studios, One to One, Film Clinic, and Film Square. The film stars Amr Youssef, Dina El Sherbiny, Tara Emad, Khaled Kamal, Mostafa Gharib, Ahmed Abdel Wahab, with a special appearance by Mohamed Shaheen.
