As for the various events, the festival’s governing body explained that it targets cinema lovers who seek to discover films that inspire them, and provides Master Classes for environmental experts to share their knowledge and experiences, as well as attracting tourists and local communities and educating decision makers.
The festival was launched in 2014 in the coastal city of Gabes, which is living with major environmental issues as a result of the pollution caused by the industrial zone. Since its inception, the festival has taken on an international dimension due to the participation of many countries suffering from environmental issues, and with the aim of making the event a space for discussion and exchange of experiences on this issue and ways to solve it.
